First United Methodist Church has stood in the heart of Asheboro for 175 years.  Founded in 1834 as the first church in what was then the village of Asheboro, First Church has a rich and illustrious history.  But we believe a great future is ahead of us, too!

With a renewed vision that emphasizes ministries to children, youth and young adults, and a deep commitment to serve Christ by serving others, First Church is enjoying a newfound sense of excitement in being the Body of Christ.  And with that has come more and more opportunities for growth, fellowship, and mission.

First Church is large enough to offer a broad and varied program of ministry for all ages and interests, but not too large that people don’t know others.  Indeed, everyone can participate and have a part in the total life of the church.

It is such an exciting time in the life of First Church as we continue to seek ways to serve our Lord Jesus Christ, and to expand our programs and facilities to meet the needs of all who come our way.
