Environmental Stewardship - Caring for Creation
Environmental_Stewardship_logo

Creation care is at the core of Christian tradition & here at FUMC we believe in being good stewards of creation. We feel that caring for the environment is our responsibility and one way that we offer thanks and praise to God, our Creator. The resources we enjoy on this wonderful earth must be valued and conserved because they are God’s gift, not only because they are useful to us.

FUMC’s Environmental Stewardship Team was formed in 2008 and meets every other month to plan programs, activities and services that focus on:

              • reducing energy usage in our buildings
              • recycling paper & containers from our offices, classrooms and kitchen
              • conserving water.

We seek ways in which to educate members in regard to environmental issues and the important connection between faith and the environment so that they might become good stewards in their homes as well as inside our church walls.

We encourage all age groups to join in these efforts with particular focus on our youth and children. Their future is integrally connected with their environment and therefore, is very important to us!
